Delhi is one of the Indian cities with high migration rate of skilled and unskilled labors. Other than these the numbers are also high of people who land up here with no cause.
However, as the years pass by and as the natural rule of `survival of the fittest’ these individuals become victims of the labour market and transforms to the vulnerable category of destitute.
The government has created `Reign Basseras’ – (Shelter home) for these people at various areas. Even though they are provided with shelter there is no facility for food and medicine. Further, the numbers of inhabitants are exorbitantly high vis-à-vis to the capacity of these shelter homes.
The home through its mobile medical van provides free medical checkup and medicine..In order to render services to the most needy people in our streets, roadside and the people living under the flyovers, we reach them with our medical team for their medical care with free of cost.
We go out to reach the people who are incapable of approaching by themselves, who are sick, laying on the streets and footpaths, riverbanks with our mobile centers.
We go twice a week to Yamuna Pusta (banks of the Yamuna river) behind ISBT Kashmere gate and other places in the nights to look for the ill destitute sick and the dying ones; where number of poor people staying without a house, cot or proper shelter.
During winter we provide them with winter clothes like blankets, dhurrie and woolen clothes along with our free medical camp and medicine distribution.
The cosmopolitan city is also the home of numerous abandoned and run away children who had landed in the city for various unknown reasons. The mobile clinic caters the needs of these children who are wounded or ill, but unwilling to take hospital admission or to get inducted in any children home or shelters.
